About the Author...

James Millward is thirty eight years old and currently lives within a small coastal area of the South West of Scotland, called Stranraer. Prior to this James grew up in the coal mining region of South Yorkshire, England, in a bustling metropolitan town called Barnsley.

As the son who’s father was a police officer in the British police service and mother who was a primary school teacher, James felt as though he had good ideals and principals instilled into him from a very young age. He learnt to respect many things, one of which was a love for books. His favourite authors differed as he grew up but it seemed that he proffered to read the books of all the well known writers. Roald Dahl, Shaun Hutson, Steven King, Shirley Conran all were to have influence on his writing style later on in life.

Bored with sitting watching people swimming up and down a swimming pool all day James started dreaming up characters for a short story, vowing that one day he would find the time to write it. Perhaps this was the wrong thing to do…The old quote ’Careful of what you wish for.’

One hot sunny day whilst riding a motorcycle he had an accident and came off, badly hurting himself, ending up off work for many weeks. It was during this time however that he started to bring the imaginary characters to life that he had dreamt up whilst working as a lifeguard at the swimming pool. More and more ideas seemed to flow into the short story until before long it had turned into a full length novel.

As this is his first attempt at breaking into the world of literature he hopes you like what you read enough to want to see a second novel. The idea's there. Lets hope the first one does well. Enjoy...
